Could you be the Welding Inspector based at our Dandenong manufacturing site facility that we're looking for?
Your future role:   You will be responsible for assuring the right welding quality within the site using the standards as guidelines by conducting welding inspections.
You will be undertaking visual weld inspections, supervising the ongoing welding activities, conducting workstation audits and advising the teams on day to day basis of the welding practices to follow.
As an expert in your field, you will support the projects and ensure that all the welding activities are completed according to applicable quality standards (AS/NZS 1554, EN ISO 15085), as well as within the HSE and quality Alstom policy.
We'll look to you for:  Performing visual weld inspections Performing mag particle and dye penetrant weld inspections Supervising welding processes on the shop floor Assuring site compliance with the relevant welding quality standards Reviewing welding quality documents (WPQR/WPS/NDT reports) Supporting the weld school during welders training and qualification Supporting the welders on the job, making sure good practices are followed.
All about you:  Certification as an international welding supervisor or inspector (IWS/IWI) is desired Formal EN9712 qualification to perform MT/PT NDT is required Formal EN9712 qualification to perform UT NDT will be a strong advantage Knowledge and understanding of the foundations of welding processes Ability to read complex technical drawings Sound knowledge of AS/NZS and ISO welding symbols Sound understanding and knowledge of ISO 5817 and relevant parts of AS 1554 Familiarity with EN ISO 15085, EN ISO 3834 and EN ISO 9606.
