We are seeking a Welder/Fabricator to join our team. The successful candidate will be responsible for welding metal components with appropriate welding techniques and equipment according to specifications and also operating and maintaining a range of machinery and equipment.
We are open to candidates from a range of backgrounds, with at least 2 years' experience in welding and fabrication. If you are experienced and competent in MIG and TIG welding, we would like to hear from you.
In your new role with us, you will be performing Welding/Fabrication : Able to read and interpret technical drawings, plans and blueprints to determine welding requirements. Use welding machines to join metal components and structures, including Steel, aluminium and stainless steel, using various welding techniques such as MIG and TIG welding. Use grinders, cutters and other tools to prepare and finish welded surfaces and remove excess materials. Inspect completed welds to ensure they meet quality standards and customer specifications. Set up welding equipment and tools including selecting appropriate electrodes, gas mixtures and welding wire. Maintain welding equipment and tools, including cleaning, repairing and replacing components as necessary. Follow workplace health and safety policies and procedures to minimise risk and prevent incidents. Machinery Operation : Perform general machine operations; perform safety and quality checks and record findings; interact with computing technology, accurate component counting. Perform general maintenance on machinery as per maintenance schedule. Empty swarf as required by supervisor. Operate forklift as required to assist warehousing operations. Previous welding and fabrication experience in a manufacturing setting, however a trade qualification is not essential. A keen eye for precision and detail, and exhibit integrity, flexibility and resourcefulness. Use personal protective equipment (PPE) as required and promote a safety-first culture among team members. Knowledge of safety regulations and procedures related to metal fabrication and welding. Forklift licence preferred.
