Purchasing Officer Weir Minerals Coolum Onsite Purpose of Role: Currently seeking a Purchasing Officer to join the Dewatering Procurement & Planning team at Coolum on the Sunshine Coast.
You will be involved in all tasks from sourcing new vendors to executing supply agreements, whilst meeting the demanding requirements of your stakeholders to ensure on-time deliveries and customer satisfaction. Previous experience in international shipping will be an advantage.
This role is a 12-month max term contract. Key Responsibilities: Source materials, services and components with suitable suppliers, local, overseas or 3rd party options. Negotiate with suppliers and freight forwarders - products, service levels, timely delivery, prices, geographical coverage, etc. Complete purchasing transactions in SAP. Maintain Master Data and information records. Achieve agreed KPI's including purchase savings, supplier OTD, effective exception messaging, expediting. Manage, create, draft, distribute quotes, purchase orders, non-compliance documents. Job Knowledge/Education and Qualifications: Experience in procurement role in manufacturing or a similar industry. Well-developed written and verbal communications skills. Intermediate to advanced knowledge with SAP and Microsoft Office programs. High attention to detail and the ability to work autonomously. Strong background building and maintaining supplier relationships to ensure KPI's and targets are met. Team-focused approach and willingness to assist in all areas to support overall team performance.
