About the role... A key function of the role is to work as part of the team, contributing to creating a home for our Elders, providing the required attention to food service delivery, maintaining a high standard of hygiene and cleanliness. The role also requires taking part in accreditation, WHS & Infection control programs and complying with MiCare's Food Safety program and relevant legislation.

Maintaining an Incident / accident free work environmentMaintaining Elder satisfaction in relation to food servicesEnsuring a clean and safe environmentPresenting meals in an appealing and timely fashionBeing aware of Work Health and Safety requirements and reporting hazards or issues of concernBeing aware of emergency procedures and location of evacuation exits and equipmentAssisting in the maintenance of a clean, hazard free work environmentFollowing workplace procedures for accident incident reportingAbout you... You will have a flexible, caring, patient attitude. You will have a preparedness to work to the 10 principles of the Eden Alternative philosophy.
Qualifications... Certificate in Food handling/ Food Safety preferred but not essentialSkills... The ability to work effectively in a culturally sensitive manner within an Ethno-specific environmentThe ability to work with frail and/or confused Elders and their familiesThe ability to accept directions and work with minimal supervisionThe ability to liaise with other staff and act as part of a team dedicated to providing quality care to our EldersA sound understanding of the Accreditation Standards and funding guidelinesDemonstrated computer skillsThe ability to effectively use software and systems required for the positionThe ability to work with the 10 Principles of the Eden Alternative philosophyA demonstrated commitment to personal developmentA flexible, caring and patient attitudeA positive and innovative approach to the provision of Aged CareAttention to detail with all tasks.Food handling experience preferred but not essentialA police check with no disclosable outcome, medicare evidence of current flu vaccination and a COVID-19 vaccination, including dose 3 is required by MiCare for this position.
