Two Permanent part time positions Mon to Wed or Thu to Sat 24 hours p/fortnight 10.00am to 2.00pm Casual pool Work Monday to Saturday 10.00am to 2.00pm $24.97 p.hr base rate, plus 25% casual loading 11.5% Superannuation + Not for profit packaging! About the role ... The Barista will work at our Café preparing and serving hot and cold beverages, including varieties of coffee and tea. The position will warmly welcome customers and create as well as serve hot and cold beverages, tailored to customer preferences. The Barista is responsible for taking customer orders and payments. Also, cleaning and sanitizing their work areas, seating areas and equipment/tools.
Barista responsibilities include educating customers on our drinks menu, making recommendations based on their preferences, up-selling special items and taking orders. To be successful in this role, you should have customer service skills and knowledge of how brewing equipment operates. You should also be able to work various shifts. Some of the key responsibilities of the role include:
Greet customers as they enterTake orders while paying attention to details (e.g preferences of coffee blend, dairy and sugar ratios)Serve beverages and prepared food, like cookies, pastries and muffinsReceive and process payments (cash and credit cards)Maintain stock of clean mugs and platesBe aware of Work Health and Safety requirements and report hazards or issues of concernAssistance in the maintenance of a clean, hazard free work environmentAbout you ... You will have a flexible, caring, patient attitude. You will have a preparedness to work to the 10 principles of the Eden Alternative philosophy.
Qualifications Certificate in Food handling/ Food SafetySkills: Previous experience in a barista role or in a similar hospitality setting is preferred but not essential. Training will be provided for the right candidate.Strong communication skills and a friendly, patient, and compassionate demeanour. Ability to interact with older adults in a respectful and understanding manner.High attention to detail in the preparation of drinks and maintaining cleanliness in the café area.Ability to multitask and work efficiently in a fast-paced environment while maintaining quality service.Familiarity with food safety standards and hygiene practices, particularly in a healthcare setting, is desirable. Knowledge on International Dysphagia Diet Standardisation Initiative(IDDSI) is preferred but not essential. Training will be provided for the right candidate.Ability to stand for extended periods, lift and carry items (e.g., coffee bags, milk cartons), and perform manual tasks such as cleaning and setting up equipment.A police check with no disclosable outcome, medicare evidence of current flu vaccination and a COVID-19 vaccination, including dose 3 is required by MiCare for this position.
