Waymaker Program Director

Carrum Downs Campus Permanent Full-Time Role Commencing Semester 2, 2024 Flinders Christian Community College is a co-educational, non–denominational College with campuses located at Tyabb, Carrum Downs, and Mt. Martha offering education from K – 12. Applications are invited for the position of Director of the Waymaker Program at our Carrum Downs Campus. The Waymaker Program will open in January 2025 to deliver high-quality education for students who cannot attend normal school due to anxiety, depression or PTSD. The Program is located on the Carrum Downs Campus and is intended to provide a differentiated learning program in a counter-stress environment better suited to the needs and routines of these students than a mainstream setting. We seek to see these students grow and thrive in their social connectedness, wellbeing and learning, through belonging, believing and becoming in a way that equips them to live a full and purposeful life. The successful candidate will be a caring and passionate teacher and educational leader with a strong understanding of (and commitment to) Christian education. You will be skilled and experienced in trauma-informed teaching and understand the needs of early Secondary School students in various stages of personal recovery from Anxiety and/or Depression and/or Post-Traumatic Stress Disorder. The Waymaker Program Director will lead the Program and its staff in a manner that provides participating students with learning opportunities and experiences in a safe and caring environment that will align with the Program's objectives, the College vision, mission, values and the Flinders Learning and Teaching Framework.
