Carrum Downs Campus Full-time Ongoing Commencing Term 1, 2025 Applications are invited for the position of Waymaker Program Classroom Aide at our Carrum Downs Campus from experienced and innovative candidates with a strong commitment to Christian education. This is a full-time ongoing role commencing in January 2024.
Flinders Christian Community College is a co-educational, non–denominational College with campuses located at Tyabb, Carrum Downs, and Mt. Martha offering education from K – 12.
The Waymaker Program Classroom Aide will assist Waymaker teachers and work under their direction to support individualised or small group instruction to students with additional needs or disabilities. The Aide will help build an effective learning environment by working with teachers to deliver a differentiated curriculum and associated assessment tasks that accommodate a variety of learning styles and difficulties. The Waymaker teachers are responsible for the education and behaviour support of the students, but the Aide will provide assistance within the limits of their training.
The Waymaker Program will open in January 2025 to deliver high-quality education for students who cannot attend normal school due to anxiety, depression or PTSD. The Centre is located on the Carrum Downs Campus and is intended to provide a differentiated learning program in a counter-stress environment better suited to the needs and routines of these students than a mainstream setting. We seek to see these students grow and thrive in their social connectedness, wellbeing and learning, through belonging, believing and becoming in a way that equips them to live a full and purposeful life.
The successful candidate will be a caring and passionate aide with a strong commitment to Christian education. Experience in working with students or young people in a trauma-informed setting will be an advantage.
If this sounds like your next career move, we would love to hear from you. We will be screening and interviewing applicants as they are received, so we encourage you to apply today.
For further information about this role, please contact Johanna Zonneveldt, Waymaker Director on 9785 0000.
Applications Close Monday, 2nd December 2024, unless appointed earlier.
