What You'll Do: The role of the Content & Partnerships department within Wavemaker is to bring creativity to media. The Social & Influencer Director will be responsible for driving the social and influencer product overall within Wavemaker and its clients. You will work with client teams and clients to define the opportunity for social content and influencer partnerships, helping to shape and realise big ideas into clearly articulated activation plans. This includes influencer strategy and planning, working with GroupM in managing talent negotiations and influencer workflow and leading a high-performing team to deliver outstanding influencer marketing implementation and results. This role requires a strategic leader who can balance creative innovation with data-driven decision-making, ensuring that our influencer marketing initiatives align with business goals and set new benchmarks in the industry. They will act as the interface between Wavemaker and our partners (internal – GroupM, WPP, Global and external – Platform partners, talent agents, influencer platforms etc.) to ensure client campaigns are executed and amplified in an effective, creative and future-facing, Wavemaker way. Our role is to complement the core planning & buying of media which is a core discipline of the agency. The role of Director within the Social & Influencer team is to lead the Social & Influencer output of the team, with overall responsibility for the workflow and quality control of Social & Influencer pillars. You'll demonstrate how content and media can come together to deliver great ideas and experiences to audiences. Keep abreast of industry trends and shape solutionsAct as thought leader, educating clients on social content and influencer landscapeDay-to-day leadership of the Social & Influencer Content team within C&P.Work with external partners for the future growth and development of our social content, creative or influencer marketing products.Lean-In – every day we need to be willing to lean in and support one another, this is vital to the success of our team. Identifying where support is needed and taking ownership of that.Establish trusted relationships with key client stakeholders, providing updates on current campaigns and managing expectations on projects.Build relationships with external and internal partners (Platforms, talent agents/networks, GroupM/GOAT, Hogarth, other WPP organisations, creative and analytics platforms etc.) and to stay up-to-date on the latest innovations and opportunities in market.Collaborate with and provide senior leadership across other specialist areas within C&P (Sport & Live; Content Partnerships)Work closely with our media planners and buyers for the successful integration of content and media.Own and implement best in class processes for strategy development and day to day management.Help to refine and clarify, and interpret client briefs.Commercially responsible for your team, owning forecasts and the development of proposals and scopes.Who you are: You will have a hands-on practical knowledge of how to deliver both social and influencer strategies for growth. You will be a passionate thought leader, educating your teams and clients on how to deliver engaging brand experiences to audiences. 5+ years of experience in Social and Influencer Marketing, dealing with high profile clients.Experience in delivering engagement driving social strategies, building and managing large communities.Ability to interpret social platform and influencer research to develop end-to-end organic social and influencer strategy. Highly skilled in activation with the ability to manage teams in delivering agreed performance on time and on budget.Demonstrable experience in crafting native social ideas for brands.Understand how best to leverage and integrate paid media for integrated campaigns.Entrepreneurial mindset and passionate about growing the Influencer division within C&P and Wavemaker.Serves as core craft expert and oversees the development of said craft.Shares detailed and advanced insights into the entire craft, remaining current on leading trends.Steers the decisions around product offerings and develops areas of expertise that best meet market demands and attract new customers.Acts as an innovator and thought leader around new products, technologies, offerings, etc. in the industry.Proactive about positioning the offering competitively in the market.Gives feedback to platforms to ensure time spent is productive and meeting business needs.Strong negotiation skills and commercial acumen.Experience in managing Influencer campaigns preferred.In-depth knowledge of key social platforms; an understanding of engagement drivers and creative requirements.A proven track record of proactively identifying new business opportunities within client targets and strategies.Tangible experience in managing and growing client relationships.Able to work to deadlines, prioritising and managing time across multiple clients and projects.Strong understanding of Influencer Marketing measurement and reporting.Highly motivated and able to lead and manage a team or national social specialists.A cooperative team player, that's able to support across multiple remits.Coaches others to gain new insights and view opportunities from different perspectives.Excellent interpersonal, communication and negotiation skills.Skills You Bring: Expertise in Social & Influencer Marketing: You have deep experience in digital/social and influencer marketing.Management: Experience managing a team with a strong track record in how you get the most out of your team - know how to inspire, collaborate, and get the best from your people. You have experience in organising and delegating work which ensures efficient running of campaigns.Planning & Strategy: You have planning experience in Influencer Marketing and have the ability to blend ideas with data to develop campaigns that push boundaries.Strong Communication & Client Skills: You thrive in client-facing roles, presenting innovative ideas and building trust-based relationships with senior stakeholders.Can-do attitude and solution based thinking: You understand that social and influencer marketing is a fast-paced, always-on, constantly evolving media channel and you have the desire to lead, evolve, change strategies as required to stay ahead.
