Albany - Psych - Old Age Consultant / Specialist Unique opportunity for a Consultant Psychiatrist in one of WA's most sought-after regions.
Well-established Mental Health Department Substantially comparable international graduates are encouraged to apply. Permanent Full Time Appointment - 80 hours per fortnight You will work with a well-established mental health department to provide clinical assessment and psychiatric treatment for older adults with mental illness based in the community. As a part of your role, you will supervise and train medical students including registrars, initiate and participate in research projects relevant to the mental health service, and participate in the on-call roster for the mental health team (including the ECT roster). You will also work with the local geriatric team to run the memory service. The older adult team is co-located with other local mental health services, including a 16-bed inpatient unit, and adult, child and community mental health services. There are five consultant psychiatrists, seven training registrars, one resident medical officer, and two interns providing care for patients and creating a strong local, supportive peer group.
The Hospital The health campus has a well-established mental health department, including an older adult mental health team. The Older adult team includes a training registrar, nursing and allied health staff. The team is based in Albany and provides outreach services across the region with a regular visiting clinic in the town of Katanning.

Minimum Requirements FRANZCP, and be eligible for Specialist registration with AHPRA or eligibility for substantially comparable assessment with RANZCP.
