Fortescue's Cloudbreak mine is located on the traditional lands of the Palyku and Nyiyaparli peoples.Roster: 8D/6R FIFO ex. Perth
This role will cover the Cloudbreak and Christmas Creek mine sites in the department of Water Management as part of the Chichester Hub Operations.
Reporting to the Senior Water Management Engineer, the central function of this position is to provide engineering and technical support to the Water Management Operations team to meet its safety, cost and performance objectives.
The position requires excellent communication, time management and technical skills to ensure technical support is provided on time and is effectively communicated to the department stakeholders. The successful candidate is also resourceful and a self-learner, who actively seeks opportunities for process improvement and innovation in a dynamic work environment.
Key Responsibilities Provide technical guidance and input into weekly plans for bore pump installation works.Maintain databases and key technical documentation such as the system site schematic.Provide system management guidance to the operation teams to ensure the dewatering system is optimised whenever possible.Provide technical guidance and support to operational staff and other business units.Identify improvements with regards to FMG dewatering infrastructure standards and processes.Produce system curves of pumped systems for pump selection and hydraulic analysis.Work to continuously optimise and improve the dewatering system.Qualifications and Experience Tertiary qualification in Bachelor of Engineering (Mechanical or Civil or Environmental).Must have 2 years' experience in a water system design and/or operations environment. Some exposure to mining is desirable.System curve and/or hydraulic modelling experience is essential.Previous pump station and pipeline design experience is highly desirable.Experience with AutoCAD is desirable.Demonstrated ability to engage, connect and influence key stakeholders at all organisational levels.Advanced analytical and problem-solving skills.Our Commitment Fortescue is deeply committed to providing a safe culture that builds respect, fosters inclusiveness, and values diversity.
