PRIMARY OBJECTIVE This role is responsible for providing expertise in the design, documentation, delivery, commissioning, and maintenance of Supervisory Control and Data Acquisition (SCADA) and control systems associated with water and wastewater infrastructure throughout the Northern Territory, including remote Indigenous communities.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES The "WHAT" to be delivered: Investigate, design, program, configure, document, and provide expert technical advice on Programmable Logic Control (PLC), Radio Telemetry Units (RTU), and SCADA systems for water and wastewater systems, including remote Indigenous communities.
Manage project delivery on time and within budget, including tender documentation development, design, construction, procurement, and contract management.
Apply and adhere to Power and Water cyber security requirements as related to SCADA and control systems.
Work collaboratively with a range of internal and external stakeholders to design and implement solutions.
Work effectively as an individual and team member to resolve complex faults on critical equipment in both remote and urban areas, including participation in on-call (after-hours) duties.
Support the technical and professional development of junior members of the team.

SELECTION CRITERIA Qualification & Skills Experience Essential: Mandatory minimum 3 or 4 year Science or Engineering degree in a relevant field recognised in Australia.
Extensive SCADA/control systems engineering and/or service delivery experience in the water industry.
Experience in leading projects, design, documentation, commissioning, and maintenance of PLC-based control systems, Human Machine Interface (HMI), including telemetry systems.
Highly developed interpersonal, written, oral communication and presentation skills, including an ability to interact effectively with people of diverse cultures.
Demonstrated skills in SCADA asset management.
Ability to work under pressure to resolve complex faults on critical equipment.
Ability and willingness to travel and work in harsh and challenging environments and remote areas and participate in an 'on-call' roster.
Current NT Driver's licence or equivalent Australian Driver's Licence.
Ability and willingness to obtain a relevant Restricted Electrical License.
Desirable: Demonstrated knowledge in TCP-IP, data communications and SCADA protocols, networking equipment, and computer operating systems.
Experience in the design, installation, and maintenance of Allen Bradley programmable controllers, Miri telemetry, CITECT SCADA, data communications protocols, industrial networking equipment, and computer operating systems.
Working knowledge of and experience applying Industrial Cyber Security techniques.
Experience working in remote locations and/or harsh environments.
