This nation-building project will provide on-demand energy and large-scale storage for many generations to come.The role:An exciting opportunity exists for a Water Resource Officer to join our Water Modelling team, providing the business with timely insights and advice on the Snowy Scheme's water resources to maximise business outcomes through the optimisation of physical, commercial and regulatory constraints.Your key responsibilities in this role will include:Operate and maintain daily, monthly and annual water accounting applicationsOperational simulation modelling and insightsQuality control and assurance of input and output dataOngoing research and development to improve business applicationsProvide strategic direction for development of the hydrometric networkIdentify improvement opportunities, develop business case and specify potential application upgrades, with a focus on automation and improving real time data qualityWe're looking for someone with:Relevant tertiary qualifications eg. B. Engineering, Science, EnvironmentExposure to water engineering including applied hydrology and hydraulic engineeringAn understanding of hydro power operational, hydrological and meteorological processes.Understanding of water modelling practices with demonstrated programing skills an advantageDemonstrated ability to build relationships with key stakeholdersStrong communication skills, verbal and writtenExposure to project management would be an advantage but not essentialIf you feel that you have what we're looking for, please apply now!
