Job duties include operation and maintenance of the water treatment plant; inspection and/or monitoring of pumps, charts, gauges and meters; and participation in preventive maintenance programs on plant and equipment. Water Plant Operator will be the primary job, but the position will, also, include work in the water distribution. A current water treatment license is preferred but not necessary. Minimum training and experience: graduation from high school or equivalent; must acquire Class III Water Treatment Plant Operator's License within twelve months after meeting experience requirements. Tools, equipment, and vehicles used: laboratory equipment, hand tools, meters, safety equipment, heavy trucks, backhoe, and normal office equipment.
Physical requirements of the job : work requires sitting at desk with intermittent standing, walking, stooping; must lift objects over 25 pounds; and some work is performed outdoors regardless of weather conditions.
Salary Information: Starting pay is dependent upon experience/qualifications.
