About the role As the Water Management Specialist at Fosterville Gold Mine Pty Ltd, you will play a crucial role as you refine and oversee the water management strategy and ensure its execution to ensure the sustainable and environmentally responsible use of water at the mine site.
What you'll be doing Coordination of water management at Fosterville Development and implementation of the water management strategy Execution of studies/monitoring pertaining to hydrogeology, hydrology Maintaining and improving the water balance Developing and implementing water management plans to meet regulatory requirements and environmental objectives Coordinating with various stakeholders, including regulatory authorities, to ensure compliance with all relevant water management regulations Evaluating and recommending new technologies, processes, and systems to enhance water efficiency and conservation Preparing detailed reports and presenting findings to management on the company's water management performance Providing technical guidance and support to the operations team on all water-related matters Collaborating with the environmental and sustainability teams to further integrate water management into the overall site environmental management plan What we're looking for Tertiary qualification in Hydrology, Hydrogeology, Environmental Sciences or Environmental Engineering, Water Management, or a related field 8-10+ years of work experience in one of the above fields is required 5+ years of proven leadership/supervisory experience is required Mining experience is an asset Strong understanding of water management regulations, policies, and best practices Proficient in data analysis, modelling, and reporting Excellent problem-solving and critical-thinking skills Demonstrated ability to work collaboratively with cross-functional teams Strong communication and stakeholder management skills What we offer At Fosterville Gold Mine, we are committed to providing our employees with a supportive and rewarding work environment.
