What We Are Looking For Are you experienced in the water/wastewater industry or a trade-qualified plumber/drainer? We're seeking a hands-on Team Leader to oversee construction and maintenance projects, ensuring smooth operations, high-quality outcomes, and a strong focus on safety.
With proven supervisory skills, you'll motivate your team and support them to deliver results efficiently and effectively. As our ideal candidate, you'll bring excellent interpersonal and problem-solving skills, sound decision-making abilities, and the initiative to tackle challenges. Experience with plant and equipment, such as trucks and excavators, along with proficiency in Microsoft Office tools like Outlook and Excel, is essential.
What Your Day Will Look Like Lead and supervise your team in the installation of new water and sewerage infrastructure, including pipes, mains, and service connections.Plan and coordinate tasks to ensure timely, efficient, and safe completion of projects.Operate plant and machinery (e.g., trucks and excavators) for excavation and installation work, maintaining high safety standards.Ensure compliance with regulations, safety protocols, and quality workmanship throughout the installation process.Complete necessary documentation, including timesheets, job sheets, and risk assessments, for accurate reporting and compliance.What You'll Need For Success Certificate III (AQF Level 3 or above) in Civil Construction or equivalent experience in the water/wastewater industry and/or relevant trade qualifications (Licensed Plumber/Drainer) with relevant experience.Demonstrated experience in water and wastewater construction and maintenance activities, with supervisory skills and hands-on experience operating plant and equipment (e.g., truck and excavator).Current MR Licence and valid driver's licence (or willingness to obtain the MR Licence within 3 months of commencement)Current Hepatitis A, Hepatitis B, and Tetanus immunisations (or ability to readily acquire)Construction Induction Training (White Card)What's Nice To Have Certificate III (AQF Level 3 or above) in Water Industry OperationsCurrent competency in operating bobcat, backhoe, and excavator.Confined Spaces CertificationFirst Aid CertificationBenefits Of Working With Council Committed to providing quality services to our community, we strongly support an inclusive and values driven culture, recognising your individual skills, knowledge and talent.
