Current Vacancies: Find Your Opportunity TodayFormal Trade qualifications in Plumbing and Draining;Knowledge of local authority water and sewerage infrastructure operations, job costing and cost control, legislation relevant to the position, and a working knowledge of the plumbing, drainage and wastewater management standards;Knowledge of the safe operation of Reverse Osmosis Water Treatment Plant, and Drinking Water Quality Management Plans;Knowledge of quality assurance principles and practices, and working knowledge of on-site domestic wastewater management;Current General Construction Induction Card and a current Queensland 'C' Class Drivers Licence;Ability to read, interpret and understand engineering design drawings;Sound oral and written communication skills;Suitable working knowledge of computers and relevant applications;Current Tetanus, Hepatitis A and Hepatitis B immunisations (or willing to obtain).DescriptionCouncil is seeking an experienced trade-qualified Plumber and Drainer to supervise a range of operational, maintenance and construction tasks pertaining to water, sewerage and drainage matters in a professional manner to achieve the desired quality outcomes in accordance with Council's Operational Plan and Budget.
Council's Water and Sewerage crew are responsible for the operation and maintenance of Council's water and sewerage network including sewerage and sewerage reticulation system, Councils water bores, water and sewerage treatment plants and pump stations, and the pool chlorination and pump systems.
The successful applicant will have demonstrated skills and experience in a supervisory role, with strong leadership skills, and the ability to foster and promote a positive workplace culture.
Council is seeking a Supervisor with good verbal and written communication skills, and the ability to relate with members of the community and staff at all levels.
It is a requirement of the position that the successful applicant must be willing to participate in an on-call roster system for after-hours call-out response to emergencies.
Salary & BenefitsSalary: $81,396 to $90,652 per year plus applicable overtime
