Wastewater & Stormwater - Operations EngineerLocation: Fernleigh Road Depot, located at 151 Fernleigh Road, Glenfield Park - Wiradjuri CountryDepartment: Infrastructure Services - OperationsEmployment type: Permanent Full-timeWagga Wagga City Council seeks a driven and experienced individual to fill the crucial role in supporting the Wastewater and Stormwater team to deliver high quality engineering drafting and design services.An attractive remuneration in accordance with skills and experience.The opportunity to further develop your career with a large regional Council with enviable and diverse projects already in motion or coming online.The Operations Engineer role works within the Wastewater and Stormwater team to:Monitor the performance of wastewater and stormwater reticulation networks and wastewater treatment against service levels.Implement the annual renewal and maintenance plan and the effective and integrated management of Strategic Asset Planning initiatives.Ensure effective and fit-for-purpose research, policy formulation, and strategic activity planning.Key responsibilities include but are not limited to:Prepare robust, defensible long-term maintenance and renewal budgets for all wastewater and stormwater networks, coordinate them, and ensure they are included in the Asset Management Plan.Prepare wastewater and stormwater asset renewals, upgrades, and creation (minor projects) and assist as required with tendering these projects.Provide operational and technical advice on capital and renewal works programmes.Obtain and analyse asset condition assessments and performance ratings and ensure these are included in the asset management system.Provide technical assistance during the evaluation of the Council's wastewater and stormwater infrastructure.Review monthly financial budget and expenditure reports for operational and maintenance activities and report on variances.Coordinate with field staff to assist with planning, monitoring, and maintaining wastewater and stormwater assets.Review and develop improved standards, processes, and procedures and oversee their implementation as part of a continuous improvement process.Optimise and recommend network reconfiguration opportunities and requirements.Assist with developing and implementing asset management plans for stormwater, sewer, and reuse infrastructure.What you will need to succeed:Tertiary qualifications relevant to the role i.e., Bachelor Degree in Civil, Mechanical or Environmental EngineeringProfessional Engineer's Registration, or eligibility to obtainClass C Drivers LicenceGeneral Construction Induction Training Card (White Card).What is next?Applications close Sunday, 5 January 2025 at 11.59pm AEST with interviews to be held in the week commencing Monday, 13 January 2025.If you are interested in this role and would like more information, please contact Henry Pavitt, Director Infrastructure Services on .As part of the recruitment process, pre-employment checks will be conducted in line with requirements of the position.All preferred candidates for this position will be asked to consent to a police check.
