Aerofloat's Aftercare and Operations business is growing and requires a full-time Wasterwater Operator/ Technician to support our growing customer base in Queensland.
The wastewater operator role is dynamic, requiring the successful candidate to work across multiple sites, performing routine checks and testing and preventative maintenance tasks on various plant and equipment.
General daily duties may include:
Undertake the day-to-day tasks of wastewater treatment plant operation in alignment with all safety and environmental legislative compliance and reporting requirements.
Troubleshooting on plant operations for any unforeseen circumstances.
Actively participate in team meetings to discuss operational matters and task schedules.
Operate pumps, valves, tanks, and lagoons to control wastewater flows.
Operate treatment stages such as dissolved air floatation, anoxic and aerobic reactors, sludge dewatering and chemical processes.
Monitor flow meters, pressure gauges, and wastewater quality.
Take samples and carry out routine analysis.
Perform routine maintenance.
Supervise the supply of bulk chemicals to the site.
Generate/develop and provide reports on plant quality parameters and findings from plant and equipment inspections.
Perform basic repairs and, where warranted, escalate repair/maintenance needs to senior team members.
Participation in an on-call roster as required.
To be successful in this role, the candidate should have the following:

Experience in the operations and maintenance of wastewater treatment plants.
Ideally, have a Cert III in Water/Wastewater Operations or Engineering degree (chemical or mechanical).
Relevant years of experience will be considered in place of qualifications.
Understand process control and process adjustment.
Ability to work independently.
Demonstrated knowledge of workplace health and safety principles.
Strong written and verbal communication skills with proven ability to prepare documentation.
Sound experience and knowledge of Microsoft Office (Word, Excel).
Australian Driver's License
