At the Shire we value Honesty, Empathy, Accountability, Respect and Teamwork which underpin the way we work with our elected members, the community and each other.Job DescriptionAs our Waste Officer you will be responsible for providing high-level of customer service and administration of our Waste Services, including kerbside bin collection, hard and green waste collections and our Waste Transfer Station contracts and services. You will support our Waste Transfer Station team by liaising between facility staff and key stakeholders within the organisation, compiling and reporting on usage and contamination statistics and assisting the Manager Parks, Waste & Natural Environment with licencing and reporting requirements. You will also be the key contact for waste and recycling contractors ensuring they deliver services in accordance with contract conditions, processing and reconciling invoices and escalating issues as required.In addition, you will contribute to the development, delivery, and promotion of waste education programs, information campaigns, initiatives and events to promote awareness of the Shire's waste services and waste minimisation practices, encourage waste minimisation, re-use and recycling, and enhance awareness of waste disposal processes and contamination issues.Your excellent organisational skills and high level of proficiency with data input, monitoring and reporting will ensure the efficient administration of our Waste Services. Your ability to communicate effectively with a diverse range of people at all levels will enable you grow community trust in our Waste Services and build strong and productive working relationships to support effective Waste Service delivery.
