Position Overview Working part-time (21 hours per week), the Waste Education and Engagement Officer will be responsible for developing and delivering comprehensive waste education and minimisation programs, with a strong focus on the implementation of a Food Organics and Garden Organics (FOGO) collection service and a Community Recycling Centre (CRC). This role involves managing resources, monitoring project performance, and ensuring high-quality service delivery.
Key responsibilities include managing waste education programs, providing technical support to the community, and collaborating with various stakeholders to enhance resource recovery and reduce waste contamination.
Candidate Profile We are looking for a motivated individual who is passionate about waste management and sustainability. The ideal candidate will possess a strong background in education, communications, or environmental science, and have experience in delivering engaging programs to diverse audiences.
Minimum Diploma level qualifications in Education, Communications, Business, Sustainability, Marketing, Environmental Science, or a related field. Demonstrated experience in developing and evaluating education programs. Excellent customer service and communication skills, with the ability to engage effectively with the community. Experience in event management and implementing complex projects with multiple stakeholders. The successful candidate will be a critical thinker, a team player, and possess the ability to articulate complex information in simple terms while fostering a collaborative work environment.
