Are you highly motivated, passionate and enthusiastic about waste and recycling?
If so, this could be the role you are looking for.
We are looking to recruit a part-time Waste Disposal and Development Officer to join a small team with big ideas.
About the role: Working with internal and external stakeholders, you will contribute to and implement improvements to the city's waste collection and disposal operational working practices.
You will also support to enhance associated services to address the changing nature of waste management and the future challenges of the sector.
You will bring excellent communication (verbal and written), project management, analytical and customer service skills to the team.
Having the confidence to influence and challenge behaviours in a diverse demographic will also be essential.
The team delivers both internally and externally, allowing you to have a real impact on council front-line public services as well as developing professional working relationships with external organisations in an increasingly commercial environment.
You must be comfortable working to strict deadlines and key performance indicators, and you will have the opportunity to develop your knowledge and skills working across a large and varied agenda.
As a Waste Disposal and Development Officer you will play a key role in providing a value for money waste service within the city and be committed in helping to deliver The Green City Plan 2030 which sets out an ambitious vision for a more sustainable council and how we will tackle some of the most challenging environmental issues in our city.
This post is based mainly at City Depot and will require travel to sites throughout the city working with a range of stakeholders, as well as working flexibly, as the job role requires.
