The opportunity | Here's how you'll do that as a Payroll Manager You will be responsible for leading payroll operations for a team of 2000+ employees, ensuring timely and accurate processing of wages, benefits, and deductions. This role manages a skilled payroll team and ensures compliance with all relevant laws and Warrigal's Enterprise Agreements. The Payroll Manager drives best practices to streamline and optimise payroll processes, with a focus on continuous improvement and efficiency.
Working closely with teams across Finance, Rostering, People & Culture, and IT, the Payroll Manager helps integrate systems, resolve discrepancies, and align payroll processes with broader organisational goals. Additionally, the role involves regular risk assessments and governance reporting to identify and address compliance issues, ensuring robust controls are in place to safeguard against regulatory and financial risks.
The benefits | Recognising your value Salary – from $120k base - negotiable on experience + packaging benefits + super Not For Profit salary packaging benefits – pay up to $18,550 less tax per year, meaning more money for you Flexible working – career break schemes, additional purchased leave and more Commitment to on-going professional and career development Subsidised access to your local gym and 200+ more across the country with a Fitness Passport 24/7 access to mental, physical, social and financial support via the LifeWorks app The requirements | What it takes to do this work High level of substantial experience in a similar leadership role within a medium to large organisation Exceptional communication skills, both written and verbal, with the ability to present financial information to management In-depth payroll knowledge, with the ability to provide guidance on payroll-related issues and clearly communicate policies Strong project management and organisational skills, especially in HR, Payroll, and Time & Attendance system transformations Proven ability to build and maintain effective relationships with internal and external stakeholders Excellent problem-solving and analytical skills, with a focus on driving automation and improving efficiency Solid understanding of Industrial Awards, Agreements, and current employee relations legislation Experience leading and developing a high-performing Payroll team Ability to work collaboratively within a team environment A commitment to promoting workplace equity and diversity A valid NSW driver's licence Bachelor's degree in Finance, Business Administration, Human Resources, or a related field Experience working with Dayforce payroll system Involvement in payroll transformation initiatives Strong negotiation and influencing skills What our people love about working here: A focus on purpose over profit : As a not-for-profit organisation, our leaders and board care deeply about the vision.
