About Us Direct Plasterboard Outlet Pty Ltd has grown to 10 stores across 4 states, becoming a leading independent distributor of Plasterboard and related materials.
Due to our growth we currently have opportunities to join our Darwin (Palmerston) team for an experienced Warehouse Team member.
The Role We are excited to offer a unique opportunity for an experienced Warehouse Team member to join our team at the Darwin (Palmerston) store in a full-time capacity. Working collaboratively with the sales orientated Trade Store Manager, this hands-on role is pivotal in leading and managing our warehouse operations, ensuring the seamless day-to-day functioning of our facility.
As our Warehouse Team member, you'll be expected to think innovatively, embracing current processes while continually identifying opportunities for improvement. Your leadership skills will be instrumental in motivating and delegating tasks to your team, fostering a supportive workplace culture. Alongside your supervisory responsibilities, you'll be hands-on, ready to step in when needed.
Key Responsibilities Your key responsibilities will encompass:
Customer Service: Uphold excellent customer service standards. Uphold a YES, WE CAN culture.Safety: Ensure safe operations, including the management of mobile plant equipment.Issue Resolution: Investigate service failures, losses, or freight damage incidents and implement corrective actions.Inventory Management: Coordinate stock takes, stock rotation, damages, losses, and cycle counts.Leadership: Lead, motivate, and empower your team through effective communication, leadership, performance feedback, and team-building efforts.Continuous Improvement: Foster a culture of continuous improvement and ensure adherence to efficient processes.Skills & Experience Essential: Prior experience in supervising a small warehousing team within a high-performing work environment.Sound understanding and application of safe work procedures.Forklift License. White cardAbility to work under pressure.Reliability and attention to detail.Strong written and verbal communication skills.Willingness to be hands-on.Physically fit.Available to work Monday-Friday and occasional Saturdays.Preferable: MR or HR Truck licenseJoin us in shaping the future of the building industry as a valued member of our team at DPO.
