We currently have a full-time position available for A Warehouse Supervisor (PM shift), based in Darra, Queensland. KEY PURPOSE: This leadership role is responsible for the efficient and effective coordination and supervision of all warehouse activities whilst ensuring that all safety aspects are adhered to.
Whilst the primary responsibility of this role is supervision of the warehouse, this role is a working role, and this Position Description should be read in conjunction with that of both the Forklift Operator and Shed Hand Position Descriptions.

MAJOR OBJECTIVES: Compliance with all safety and environmental procedures/responsibilities;Efficient and effective supervision of warehouse staff and activities;Use of the WMS (Warehouse Management System) to optimise warehouse performance;Manage and motivate the workforce to ensure that products are stored and shipped out accurately and efficiently;Ensure proper transport, packaging and placement of products;Management of inventory, including damages.KEY ACCOUNTABILITIES: Safety Be a Woodhouse Timber Safety Champion and understand the responsibilities of this role;Ensure adherence to the Woodhouse Timber Health and Safety Handbook and Manual policies and procedures;Adherence to all safety regulations and legislative requirements;Ensure that safe and environmentally acceptable working methods and practices are implemented and carried out across all warehouse activities;Promote total job safety and environmental awareness to employees, subcontractors and all persons in the job vicinity;Ensure that hazards are identified, risk assessed, and control measures planned and implemented;Act diligently to ensure all Risk and Safety Assessments are completed using the appropriate forms and documents.Management & Planning Support and direct activities to ensure completion in accordance with Company plans and procedures;Organise, coordinate and direct warehouse activities in accordance with metrics and targets;Provide constant support and direction to personnel;Create and maintain a positive working environment;Hold self and staff accountable;Monitor and review the performance of plant, labour and subcontractors;Timely submittal of reports;Improve warehouse work processes through strategic planning;Assess and allocate priorities as necessary;Promptly advise management of issues;Ensure all personnel are inducted and trained in their role and responsibilities;Assist in the hiring of personnel;Prepare and present Toolbox and Safety Team meetings.Operational Oversee, coordinate and complete all monthly responsibilities of the Safety Team;Maintain machinery and organise all incoming and outgoing transport;Maintain warehouse cleanliness;Requisition of minor materials and consumables;Utilisation of planned resources efficiently;Promotion of professional image of the Company's operations;Any other duties as required by the Company.QUALIFICATIONS/KEY/SKILLS/COMPETENCIES/PERSONAL ATTRIBUTES: Minimum 3 years experience within a leadership role in a warehouse environment (Timber Industry preferred);Knowledge of inventory and supply chain management;Possess a Forklift licence & must be confident in the usage of a forklift;Sound working knowledge of WH&S requirements;Strong and proven ability to lead, direct and manage diverse employees;Excellent organisation and efficient time–management skills;Strong verbal and written communication skills;Ability to problem solve and make sound decisions under pressure;Previous Warehouse and pick and packing experience;Certificate III Warehousing Operations (not essential, but will be highly regarded).AUTHORITIES: Authority to immediately stop any works or activities affected by hazards without adequate control measures.WORKING RELATIONSHIPS: The Warehouse Supervisor reports directly to the relevant Warehouse Manager;May liaise with Heads of Departments;Work closely with Internal Sales/Administration Officers.TRAVEL: Ad hoc travel may be required to interstate warehouse locations.EMPLOYEE BENEFITS Birthday or Appointment Leave;Company uniforms provided;Employee Assistance and Wellbeing program;Private Health Insurance discount;Regular functions (i.e. Staff Monthly lunches, mid/end year parties);Supportive friendly culture and environment;Opportunity for training and career development.Woodhouse embraces and values equity, inclusion and diversity, along with our strong commitment to Safety.
