We are looking for an experienced Supervisor to join our Prestons Distribution team to manage our labelling production room, known at Inghams as the Weigh Label Room (WLR). This is a busy environment, comprising around 50 team members who are responsible for inspecting, packing, weighing and labelling chicken products. The WLR operates across 3 shifts, 24 hours a day, 5 days a week and the Supervisor will be required to work Monday to Friday, standard business hours. This is a 12-month contract commencing ASAP. Key responsibilities:
Oversee the daily operations of a busy production environment. Manage the rostering and rotation of 45 team members and 8 leading hands across 3 shifts, ensuring optimal efficiencies are achieved while meeting KPI targets. Lead and develop the team through effective people management strategies to achieve individual, team and site objectives. Work with shift team leaders to assist in driving performance to deliver on customer expectations. Partner with the Sales and Planning teams to determine demand, supply and labour requirements. Work closely with other internal stakeholders including DC Operations Manager and DC Manager. Manage and reduce product wastage coming out of the WLR. Oversee maintenance of labelling machines. Manage a P&L.
Key requirements:
Previous experience working in a fast-paced production/manufacturing environment with a proven track record of achieving positive operational outcomes. Superior leadership skills, able to build rapport quickly and effectively to create a highly collaborative working environment. Experience in leading, coaching and developing a large team. Strong communication and problem-solving skills with the ability to partner cross-functionally and build strong relationships with a variety of stakeholders. High attention to detail and demonstrated ability to plan, prioritise and organise work demands whilst meeting tight deadlines. Strong analytical and numerical skills with proficiency in Excel and managing a P&L.
