About Our ClientMichael Page are proud to be exclusively partnering with one of our key clients in the manufacturing industry on the appointment of their next Warehouse & Logistics Manager.This newly defined role is critical to their operation, and will work closely with the Supply Chain Manager to drive efficiency across their warehouse and production operation.Job DescriptionLeading a team of 6 direct reports, you will be responsible for;Driving a culture of safety and championing OH&S best practiceOptimising flow of goods in/out of the warehouse in conjunction with production.Managing transport providers and establishing rate cards and a supplier matrixCultivating a continuous improvement environment by maximising site efficiency and productivity, identifying, evaluating, and implementing improvement opportunities and training programs, and ensuring staff are adequately trained for safe and efficient operations.Ensure that the site and staff maintain necessary licenses and certificates of competency as required by legislation and company policies.Oversee daily operational and administrative procedures and the overall performance of the site, including operational security.Actively manage warehouse utilisation and costs, and implement cost reduction strategies.The Successful ApplicantDemonstrated success leading a large team in a production warehouseDangerous goods and chemical handling experienceExperience driving continuous improvement initiatives including warehouse layout and optimisationPrevious experience dealing with transport providers, creating rate cards and KPI's
