The Listowel Wingham Hospitals Alliance was formed on July 1, 2003 as a partnership between Listowel Memorial Hospital and Wingham and District Hospital. We share a common management structure with one CEO. We have a commitment to partnership and common Mission, Vision and Values. The Alliance Board consists of both hospital boards combined. The Listowel Memorial Hospital has been providing acute care and complex continuing care services to the residents of North Perth and the hospital's catchment area since 1919. Our fully accredited hospital offers a wide range of primary and secondary services including 24-hour emergency services. In-patient and out-patient care, specialist clinics and supportive diagnostic services. The Hospital has an active staff of 10 Family Practitioners as well as several consultant staff.

The Wingham and District Hospital is a modern, progressive acute care facility providing medical, surgical, obstetrical, paediatric, chronic and rehabilitation bed and other services, including 24-hour emergency coverage.

Description: The Ward Clerk (Nursing Inpatient / Oncology) performs receptionist and clerical duties on the Inpatient Unit or Oncology Unit to enhance the efficiency of workflow including flow of patients and communication and information sharing in and between units. Provides relief to Emergency Clerk / Switchboard.
This is a temporary, part-time position that is anticipated to begin immediately and extend through November 20, 2024. The successful candidate will have the ability to work 0745-1145 and 0800-1400 Monday through Friday, and 0800-1400 Saturday and Sunday.
Responsibilities: Processing admissions and discharges in cerner system.Preparing assignment sheets.Answering telephones, faxing referrals, prescriptions.Connecting with consultants, Criticall or other organizations as required for patient care.Arranging patient transfers, preparing transfer information package. Booking patient appointments outside of the hospital.Stocking / maintaining patient charts. Keeping the nurses station organizedOrdering telephones and T.V.s for patients. Directing visitorsStaffing calls as appropriateBooking transfusions/infusions on the floor Qualifications:
High school diploma or equivalentCompletion of or Currently Enrolled in a Medical Terminology Course3 – 6 months related experience within the past 5 yearsMinimal physical effortHigh degree of mental effort and analysis Salary: $25.92 - $27.55 per hour
