About us:
Armidale Rural Referral Hospital is a 99 bed facility that provides acute care services to Armidale and the surrounding towns. The hospital provides a range of services including Imaging, General Surgery, Orthopaedics, Paediatrics, Emergency, Maternity, Mental Health, Occupational Therapy, Social Work, Physiotherapy, Speech Pathology, and General Medicine. This position is based in the busy General Medical Unit which relies on the Ward Clerk for the smooth running of day-to-day processes. The Ward Clerk is the first point of contact for families & visitors and is an essential part of the team within the General Medical Unit.
About the job:
The role of the Ward Clerk is to provide efficient and effective administrative/clerical service within the facility, maintain consistent, high-quality customer service, and support the team within the General Medical Unit. The successful applicant will be able to communicate effectively with staff from all levels of the organization as well as patients and their families. You will be working alongside a dedicated and supportive team that works together to achieve common goals. Support will be provided by the Nurse Unit Manager, Clinical Nurse Educator, and Clinical Support Officer of the General Medical Unit. All relevant job-specific training and assistance will be provided.
About you:
The successful candidate will have a high attention to detail, good communication skills, and excellent computer knowledge. They will need to be flexible and adaptable to ever-changing work priorities and be able to demonstrate attention to detail with a very high level of accuracy when working with a range of computer systems and processes.
