As we expand our operations, we are seeking two talented Wall and Ceiling Fixer (Fibrous Plasterers) to join our dedicated team and contribute to our continued success.
Position Overview: The Wall and Ceiling Fixer will be responsible for applying and fixing plasterboard partitions, suspended ceilings, fire rating systems, acoustic ceiling panels, and composite wall linings to buildings.
The ideal candidate will have experience in these areas, with a strong attention to detail and the ability to work independently or as part of a team.
Registration or licensing may be required, depending on the specific job requirements and location.
Key Responsibilities: Install and fix plasterboard partitions, suspended ceilings, fire rating systems, acoustic ceiling panels, and composite wall linings in residential, commercial, and industrial buildings.
Measure, cut, and shape materials to the required specifications.
Prepare surfaces for installation and ensure all materials are securely fixed.
Apply jointing compounds and tape to seams and joints for a seamless finish.
Ensure all installations comply with relevant building codes, safety regulations, and fire rating standards.
Collaborate with other tradespeople and contractors on-site to ensure project timelines are met.
Maintain a clean and safe work environment.
Stay up-to-date with industry best practices and changes in regulations.
Requirements: Proven experience as a Wall and Ceiling Fixer, with expertise in installing plasterboard partitions, suspended ceilings, fire rating systems, acoustic panels, and composite wall linings.
Proficiency in reading and interpreting blueprints and technical drawings.
Knowledge of materials, tools, and techniques used in wall and ceiling fixing.
Strong understanding of safety procedures, building codes, and fire rating requirements.
Excellent attention to detail and problem-solving skills.
Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
Physical stamina and the ability to perform manual labour.
Relevant trade qualifications or certifications in wall and ceiling fixing.
