They are currently seeking to fill the role of WA State Manager to lead their Perth-based engineering consulting team.
This is a full-time position with two direct reports, based in the Welshpool facility alongside the NDT training team.
The Position... Reporting to the General Manager of Engineering Consulting, the WA State Manager will be responsible for providing leadership, operational management and business development to the WA facility, consulting and compliance business.
This role requires a State Manager with a hands-on approach that is passionate about growing WA market share by undertaking targeted business development activities.
The role will be divided across three focus areas:
Leadership, people & operational management, including OH&S complianceSales/Business Development – technical & engineering consulting servicesConsulting and compliance service managementSpecific role responsibilities include:
Providing strategic direction and leadership to the WA team.Business development activities through both existing account management with key clients, as well as new business acquisition activities.Managing WA operations, including budget, profit & loss of both the engineering and general operations of the State; as well as human resource & facility management.Ensuring effective provision of end-to-end engineering consulting and compliance services to clients, including: (i) quote preparation &/or review; (ii) quality & timely service delivery; and (iii) monitoring client satisfaction.Building and maintaining strong relationships with new and existing clients.Effectively managing the business development cycle, with a focus on closing sales to ensure revenue growth targets are achieved.Identifying new business leads from a variety of market sectors, including legal, mining, oil & gas, government, defense, loss assessors & manufacturing.Assist the National Business Manager to develop sales strategies and business plans to grow the WA operations and increase market share.Represent the company at client meetings or business opportunities, including exhibitions and conferences, as well as local networking events.Encourage high-performance sales and service culture through role modelling and collaboration with department technical experts.The Ideal Candidate… The ideal candidate must have the following:
At least 3 years' experience in a technical sales role.At least 3 years experience in a leadership role, preferably managing technical roles.Undergraduate degree in business administration, operations management or related field (Essential).Undergraduate degree in Engineering or technical-related field (Desirable).Proven experience in operations management.Strong commercial acumen and experience with utilising management accounting, financial analysis and other reporting (e.g.
profit & loss, balance sheet, time utilisation) to inform decisions.Strong leadership and team management skills.Ability to problem solve, provide solutions and make decisions in a timely, cost effective and efficient manner.Superior computer literacy (Outlook, Word & Excel) and familiarity with CRM systems (Zoho CRM would be advantageous).Proven experience at developing and nurturing long-term client relationships.Be personable and have well-developed communication skills (both oral and written).Excellent negotiation skills and some experience with managing SLAs etc.Willing and able to travel locally and interstate for conferences and exhibitions.Have a positive can-do attitude, a strong work ethic, and enjoy collaborating with professional peers.Have own car and current driver's license.Must have Australian working rights.The Benefits...
