About the role:

We have recently created a new position to lead the development and growth of research and innovation programs that align with PathWest's priorities. This includes overseeing research support structures, optimising PathWest access to research funding, and managing the development and implementation of innovation programs. Reporting directly to the Chief Pathologist, the Director of Research and Innovation is a leadership and senior management role responsible for the PathWest Research and Innovation Hub. This role interacts with Pathologists, Clinical Scientists, Principal Scientists and other scientific and medical staff to facilitate best research practices. It will be pivotal in identifying and engaging with potential stakeholder groups to foster strategic partnerships, expanding PathWest as a major hub for research and innovation.
This is an exciting and unique opportunity. We are seeking a highly motivated candidate with significant experience in a research and innovation environment to provide vision, leadership, and inspiration to drive research and innovation across PathWest. The ideal candidate will bring the highest standards in research governance and ethics, demonstrated achievement of objectives and outcomes, and possess highly developed communication, negotiation, conceptual, analytical, research and risk management skills.
