About the role: The VPP Lead will lead the development and commercialisation of Hydro Tasmania's C&I Virtual Power Plant product.
This is an important role as this position will set the strategic direction of VPP within Hydro Group and manage the product to effectively scale.
Your key responsibilities include: Continuing to develop our established C&I VPP product offering, and any potential future offerings, based on existing and emerging technologies.Setting the strategic pathway for VPP within the business, including assets, industries and integration partners.Working closely with the Customer Growth team in relevant technical discussions.Build partnerships internally within Hydro Group and externally and work collaboratively with others to meet shared objectives.Leading the small team in delivering the product and its operations for our customers.Takes on new opportunities and tough challenges with a sense of urgency, high energy, and enthusiasm.Making purposeful and well-informed choices to optimise wellbeing for self and others, role-modelling wellbeing as a priority, embedding reliable disciplines and influencing positive change in the system for others.Meet annual and project budgets and respond to forecast variances ($).Support the growth of distributed energy resources under management (MW).Incubate new product ideas from idea to commercial launch through an agile go-to-market process.Scope, prioritise and implement continuous improvements to existing products and the customer experience.About you: Significant experience in product management of Virtual Power Plant products, or a similar position.Previous experience in the energy services industry preferred with a passion for innovation and renewables.Experience in managing the expectations of multiple stakeholders.Demonstrated ability to influence and negotiate with managers at senior levels.Previous experience working as part of a product team and familiar with product management processes.Strong knowledge of Behind-the-Meter and Demand Management technologies and solutions.Strong knowledge of the NEM and regulatory and compliance landscape particularly related to Distributed Energy Resources.Strong interpersonal communication skills (both in conversation and in writing) to ensure information is effectively communicated to key stakeholders.The ability to analyse problems and deliver innovative solutions.A willingness to work collaboratively with colleagues and external parties.The ability to identify opportunities within the surrounding environment and action initiatives in a timely manner.What's in it for you?
