Role Details
The Department for Child Protection is seeking a Volunteer Coordinator to join the Riverland office located in Berri on a part-time ongoing basis.
The role is responsible for:
The recruitment, assessment and training of volunteers, coordinating activities and supervising volunteers.Supporting, guiding and directing volunteers to provide a high level service.Promoting and monitoring the development of volunteer services within the community through liaison with staff and working in partnership with members of the community and community organisations.Analysing and integrating information from a variety of resources to develop and deliver reports and programs.About You
We're looking for a confident, motivated individual who is able to take initiative, meet deadlines and manage changing priorities.
You will be able to act impartially and use influence, negotiation and persuasion to effectively mediate conflict and devise a workable solution.
If you have the ability to develop and maintain strong working relationships with people both within government, non-government sector and the community, then this may be the role for you.
About the Business
The Department for Child Protection (DCP) plays a key role in the protection of children, young people and their families within South Australia. The department provides support to vulnerable children and young people to be safe, strong and connected.
The Region
Berri is a town in the Riverland region of South Australia located on the banks of the Murray River and has a population of just over 4,000 people.
The Berri office currently has 30 people employed and is the only office in the Riverland area. Employees work together closely and maintain strong partnerships with various partner agencies in both the government and non-government sector.
This is a unique opportunity to work alongside the local community and support good outcomes for that community.
