Job Description:
Essential Criteria:
5+ years' experience with reviewing and developing new design, configuring, administering and managing VMware desktop and server virtualisation capability in a complex environment.
Proven experience and extensive knowledge with installation/configuration, coordinating the development and maintenance of VMware infrastructure, tools and products, including, but not limited to VMware vSphere, vSAN, Horizon/VDI, vRealize, Aria, vCenter, ESXi, Cloud Foundation.
Experience performing ICT server and virtualisation management daily activities, including, but not limited to, troubleshooting, monitoring system performance, responding to customer requests, proactively investigating system logs to identify possible issues.
Experience with automating VMware administration and management processes.
VMware Certification essential (e.g.
Certified Design Expert – VCDX, Certified Advanced Professional - Data Center Virtualization Design – VCAP-DCV Design, Certified Professional – Desktop Management (Horizon), Certified Professional - Cloud – VC-VCF, etc.).
Proven solid communication skills, working with managers, executives, stakeholders and clients, and other system administrators, working as escalation point for and mentoring of first level support.
Desirable Criteria:
Bachelor's degree in computer science, or equivalent combination of VMware product training and experience in desktop and server virtualisation complex environments.
Good understanding of developments in VMware products technologies and solutions.
Experience with operating systems, scripting and incident response.
