As a job shop, we handle the printing, packing, and dispatching of hundreds of parcels each day.
We are currently seeking a committed Warehouse Manager to oversee our daily warehouse operations while upholding high standards of productivity and safety.
This hands-on supervisory role requires the development and documentation of Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) to ensure optimal packing methods tailored to different destinations and products.
The Warehouse Manager will prioritize continuous improvement to boost packing efficiency, reduce packing materials, and ensure that all packing methods are suitable for their intended purpose.
Key Responsibilities: Supervise daily warehouse operations to maintain high productivity and safety.
Ensure proper packing of all goods and manage the procurement of packing materials to keep stock levels minimal.
Generate purchase orders and organize logistics for outsourced processes.
Participate in daily Work In Progress Meetings.
Manage the consignment, dispatch, and delivery of goods to fulfill company commitments while overseeing logistics services.
Address issues related to delayed, lost, or damaged freight.
Oversee inbound and outbound logistics, including general freight within Melbourne, interstate, and some international shipments to New Zealand.
Work with local importing agents for container imports.
Maintain accurate inventory control, ensuring precise stock recording during picking and conducting monthly stocktakes.
Ensure efficient unloading and storage of goods in designated areas, optimizing stillages and racking for effective receiving and picking.
Identify opportunities for process improvement and innovation, writing SOPs and benchmarking process times to meet performance metrics.
Manage waste recycling, landfill, and returnable packaging, ensuring cleanliness and organization in the work areas.
Develop and implement policies to enhance operational efficiency.
Collaborate with other departments to ensure deadlines are met and effective communication is upheld.
Supervise, train, and develop a strong warehouse team, fostering a positive and productive work environment.
Education and Experience: A bachelor's degree in logistics, supply chain management, business administration, or a related field.
At least five years of supervisory experience demonstrating leadership, performance management, organizational capabilities, and problem-solving skills.
Strong written and verbal communication skills, along with proficient computer literacy.
Familiarity with warehouse management systems and inventory software is crucial.
