About the Role
As the Head of Viva Labs, you will be at the forefront of Viva Leisure's innovative Labs team, overseeing all aspects of development and operations and ensuring seamless project execution and product delivery. This senior leadership role is critical to the success of our tech initiatives, as you will be responsible for supporting the Chief Technology Architect (CTA) in defining, creating, and documenting Labs projects while driving the way we support and communicate with internal and external stakeholders. You will also play a key role in overseeing the development team, and implementing project management methods and tools that drive operational excellence.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES Leadership & Growth: Manage the Labs department in its day-to-day operations, optimising strengths and team dynamics, while partnering with Executives, General Managers, and Viva Leaders to drive strategic business growth and future initiatives. Strategic Project Management: Collaborate closely with the CTA to define and document Labs projects, ensuring clarity and alignment with overall business objectives. Organisational Facilitation: Design repeatable, systematic or ad hoc team processes for decision-making, prioritisation and problem-solving, creating shared responsibilities and sustainable agreements with the team. Operational Excellence: Lead the development and implementation of project management methods and tools, the application of project monitoring and control processes, change control, risk management, and quality assurance throughout the Labs department. Stakeholder Engagement: Manage the expectations of key project stakeholders and their interface with Viva Labs, fostering strong relationships and ensuring the alignment of stakeholder expectations with business goals. We are seeking an experienced leader with strong business and technical acumen, coupled with a deep understanding of software development and operational management in a technology-driven environment. Your ability to manage and deliver complex projects, engage stakeholders, and lead a high-performing team will be essential to your success in this role.
