ROLE SUMMARY We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Cloud Engineer to join our dynamic IT team.
The successful candidate will be responsible for designing, implementing, and maintaining cloud infrastructure and services on both Amazon Web Services (AWS) and Microsoft Azure platforms.
This role involves working closely with development teams to ensure smooth deployment and scalability of applications and maintaining high availability and security of cloud resources.
KEY ACCOUNTABILITIES / TASKS Implementation and Maintenance:
Own GitHub pipelines and cloud infrastructure using Infrastructure as Code (IaC), and CloudFormation.
Experience with Terraform, Pulumi, and/or ARM templates is favorable.
Monitor and optimize cloud infrastructure for performance, cost, and security.
Implement and manage continuous integration/continuous deployment (CI/CD) pipelines.
A deep understanding of networking.
Design and Architecture:
Design and implement scalable, reliable, and secure cloud architecture on AWS and Azure.
Develop cloud solutions to meet business needs, ensuring alignment with best practices and industry standards.
Perform architecture reviews and provide guidance on cloud architecture improvements.
Security and Compliance:
Implement and maintain Zero Trust network.
Ensure the security of the cloud environment by implementing and maintaining robust security measures and compliance standards.
Conduct regular security assessments and audits with native and 3rd party tools.
Manage identity and access management (IAM and Entra) roles and policies.
Automation and Optimization:
Automate routine tasks and processes to improve efficiency and reduce human error.
Optimize cloud resources to reduce costs while maintaining performance and reliability.
Implement logging, monitoring, and alerting systems to ensure the health of cloud environments.
Collaboration and Support:
Work closely with development, operations, and security teams to integrate cloud solutions into the overall IT infrastructure.
Provide support and troubleshooting for cloud-based applications and services.
Educate and mentor team members on cloud technologies and best practices.
REQUIREMENTS / KEY SELECTION CRITERIA 1+ years of experience as a Cloud Engineer or in a similar role.
Bachelor's degree in computer science, Information Technology, or a related field.
Experience with DevOps, containerization, and orchestration (Kubernetes).
Strong understanding of infrastructure and networking.
Proficiency with cloud providers AWS and Azure.
Excellent troubleshooting and problem-solving abilities.
Familiarity with GitHub CI/CD tools and best practices.
Strong experience with Infrastructure as Code (IaC) tools such as CloudFormation, Terraform, Pulumi, and ARM templates.
Strong attention to detail.
Highly regarded:
Experience with multi-cloud environments, KQL, and MSSentinel, as well as serverless architectures and microservices.
Experience deploying and maintaining a Zero Trust Network.
Knowledge of additional cloud platforms and services.
Experience with AI and Machine learning.
Other items required:
Australian working rights for at least 3 years.
Must be willing to undertake National Police Check.
