Are you passionate about our region? Council's Economic Development & Tourism Branch is looking for enthusiastic and customer-focused individuals to join their team as Visitor Services Officers.
About the Opportunity At the Mildura Visitor Information Centre, you will provide excellent customer service and tourism information, enhancing visitors' experiences and promoting the region. Your role will involve boosting the local visitor economy by improving customer interactions to extend stays and increase activity participation. You'll effectively promote tourism services and events, and work with the Visitor Services Team Leader to implement visual presentation strategies. This includes collaborating with stakeholders to uphold brand standards and optimise retail and brochure displays. Additionally, you'll review and refine product displays and merchandising to improve customer service, inspire purchases, and maximize sales and profits.
What you will bring Ideally the successful applicant will have the following:
Qualifications in relevant field such as Certificate III in Tourism or Retail or relevant experience in sales, retail and/or customer service role. Intermediate level computer skills including Word, Excel, Outlook, Internet and Social Media platforms, along with a willingness and ability to learn industry and Council specific software programs. Experience in using the Adobe Suite of programs would be an advantage. Hold a current satisfactory Police Check or willing to obtain one. Hold a current drivers licence. Part time temporary position: Hours: This temporary role is covering for parental leave within the team and is due to conclude on Friday 21 November 2025. This position involves working 60.8 hours over a two-week cycle, including weekends.
Salary and Conditions: The position is classified within Band 4 of Council's Current Enterprise Agreement, ranging from $34.6937 to $37.0947 per hour plus statutory superannuation.
Casual Position: Hours: Rostered as required, including weekend shifts.
Salary and Conditions: The position is classified within Band 4 of Council's Current Enterprise Agreement, ranging from $43.3671 to $46.3684 per hour which includes 25% casual loading plus statutory superannuation.
