The Visitor Information Centre is seeking a dedicated and customer focused individual to join their team as a Visitor Information Centre Officer. This parttime position involves working one day a week (Fridays) to provide a positive and welcoming experience for all visitors to the centre.
Visitor Information Centre Service
Provide a high level of customer service to ensure visitors feel welcome and valued. Distribute accurate and up-to-date information to visitors. Promote tourism products within the Maranoa region to encourage longer stays. Maintain the cleanliness and presentation of the facility, including outdoor areas and toilets. Assist with counter sales and ensure cash handling is accurate and efficient. Collate and distribute weekly and monthly calendars of events to local accommodation and tourism stakeholders. Customer Service and Administrative Functions
Deliver high-quality telephone and face-to-face service to internal and external customers. Record business documents and correspondence in Council's record management system. Monitor and action customer requests in line with Council's Customer Service Charter. Collect and record tourism data, including daily visitor statistics and annual visitor surveys. Support the development of weekly, monthly, and annual tourism event calendars. Qualifications & Skills:
Strong customer service skills and a friendly, approachable manner. Attention to detail with the ability to maintain accurate records. Good organisational skills and the ability to work independently. Basic cash handling experience is an advantage.
