INFORMATION FOR APPLICANTS Greater Shepparton City Council, situated in the heart of the Goulburn Valley, is the fourth largest provincial centre in Victoria and has a well-developed economy due to its strong agricultural and irrigation base, with major industries related to food processing, manufacturing and transport. The Goulburn Valley is often referred to as 'The Food Bowl of Australia' as around 25% of the total value of Victoria's agricultural production is generated in this area. Greater Shepparton has a population of approximately 65,000, and an expenditure budget in excess of $118 million. The population is culturally diverse with 9.9% of residents being born overseas. The area has excellent education, recreation, cultural, social and health facilities and tourism is a developing focus for the region.
Visitor Information Centre Assistant Hourly Rate: $33.85 per hour (plus 25% casual loading)

Casual An exciting opportunity exists to join the Greater Shepparton Visitor Services team on a casual basis. The Visitor Information Centre Assistant is primarily responsible for delivering outstanding customer service and visitor experiences to visitors, event participants and residents of Greater Shepparton.
To be successful in this role you will:
Be focussed on providing excellent customer service, demonstrating Council's values, enthusiasm and ensuring the delivery of best practice visitor servicing; Possess a good knowledge of the local and surrounding areas; Actively support the promotion of tourism within the Greater Shepparton region; Be committed to enhancing Greater Shepparton's visitor experience by providing quality information and assisting the Visitor Centre's volunteers to do the same; Your demonstrated excellence in delivering high-level customer service and ability to work flexibly and cooperatively with paid and volunteer team members will ensure visitors to Greater Shepparton have a memorable experience in our region. The Visitor Centre is open 7 days per week, so applicants must be available to work flexible hours including some weekends and public holidays. Individuals with drive and enthusiasm along with prior visitor industry or customer service experience are encouraged to apply.
