ABOUT MUSEUMS VICTORIA: Museums Victoria cares for the State scientific and cultural collections, providing visitor access, activities and events at five distinct venues: Melbourne Museum, Immigration Museum, Scienceworks, IMAX Cinema and world heritage listed Royal Exhibition Building.
The position is accountable for ensuring visitor satisfaction through:
the delivery of an engaging, pro-active and personal service,delivery of tours in English and Mandarinresolving issues and complaints,ensuring the smooth day to day operation of the public spaces at the Museum venues and,ensuring the safety and security of visitors and the exhibitionsThe successful applicant will have: Must be fluent in Mandarin and have a demonstrated ability to present to group or audience in Mandarin.Demonstrated ability to engage with people to provide a positive and memorable experience.Clear and effective communication skills, particularly in a face-to-face context.Demonstrated ability in problem solving and positive conflict resolution.Experience and ability to competently use computerised systems (e.g. ticketing, email, MS Office applications).Demonstrated skills in the accurate handling of admissions and other charges.Ability to work as an effective team member within a diverse organisation.The successful applicant is required to undergo a National Police Records Check and Working with Children Check and be assessed as suitable (new employees are required to meet this cost).OTHER INFORMATION This is a Casual position. The salary on offer is $35.80 an hour (includes casual loading) + 11% superannuation.
