Visitor Economy and Client Programs Multiple PositionsTHE ROLE:
Australia's Visitor Economy was worth $213b in the last financial year and is Australia's biggest export service and 4th largest export (after iron ore, coal and gas). Austrade's Visitor Economy and Client Programs (VECP) Division leads the development of tourism and visitor economy policy for the Australian Government and the delivery of the Export Market Development Grants (EMDG) program and a wide range of tourism programs.
The Export Market Development Grants (EMDG) program supports thousands of exporters and provides grants of more than $100m per year. It helps thousands of Australian small and medium enterprises start, expand or diversify their export business through grants for marketing activities. The Client Programs Branch is seeking grant officers to ensure effective senior assessment of grant applications and milestone reports for EMDG and tourism grants. The Visitor Economy Branch is also seeking experienced individuals for multiple roles across the program including data management and managing the operational policy deliverables for the EMDG program. The Visitor Economy and Client Programs Division are responsible for policy, program and systems implementation of Austrade's successful 50-year EMDG program with the Division's branches working effectively together in a collegiate and engaging environment.

APS 5 Grant Officer
Duties include:
Assessing the eligibility of grant applications and milestone reports and making recommendations to the Grants Manager supported by assessment evidence and analysis.Liaising with grant applicants and other stakeholders across the grant program life-cycle.Assisting with GrantConnect reporting functions and contributing to reporting of program progress and outcomes.Utilising technology and undertaking administrative tasks to support consistent, efficient and compliant management of grants, including suggestions for ongoing improvement of processes and systems.Preparing grant agreements for successful applicants.Mentoring and guiding junior members of the team in managing KPIs to expedite assessments and achieving outcomes. APS 6 Operational Policy Officer
Duties include:
Lead work streams related to program design and implementation including drafting and reviewing a range of documentation including grant guidelines, application forms, grant agreements, reports, etc. Follow the required processes to obtain approval of Grant Guidelines in accordance with government processes and agreed timeframes.Consult and work collaboratively with stakeholders including Policy, Trade, Economics, EMDG Operations, Legal, Risk and Governance, Finance, IT Systems to test the feasibility of proposed changes to the program.Undertake stakeholder engagement with external stakeholders, including Government agencies, industry associations and businesses.Compile, analyse, and report on data and other information to inform evidence-based program design, implementation, operational policy and evaluation.Work with Communication experts to draft program communication materials, organise information sessions/webinars/ focus groups.Develop and implement timely and regular stakeholder engagement activities.Be an advocate for better practice grant administration, committed to continuous improvement, simplification and streamlining with a focus to deliver the value to clients and stakeholders.Other duties as required. Systems Support Officer – APS6
Duties include:
Strong written communication skills with experience in mapping and documenting business processes.Experience consulting with a range of stakeholders at a variety of levels to ensure the needs of the business and users are captured and prioritised for ongoing system improvement.Working closely with IT, utilising agile processes and ceremonies. Review and approve user stories, test cases and undertake user acceptance testing.Development of procedures and training material to support the delivery of system changes with key business users.Assist in the delivery of training and ongoing business as usual systems support. Data Analyst – APS6
Duties include:
Completing data analysis requests using tools such as excel and Power Bi.Build and automate reports and data tools to assist project teams to deliver.Communicate the outcomes of analysis in a meaningful way – both verbally and using tools to visualise results and trends.Work closely with stakeholders to understand and gather business requirements.Confidently managing a range of different tasks and activities at once – sometimes within tight timeframes.Being mindful of data governance, documentation and quality assurance to ensure high quality and consistent data outputs.
