Visiting Senior Specialist or Visiting Specialist (General Surgery) ICU, Womens & Perioperative Services - CAIRNS, Queensland Health The role provides assistance to the Clinical Director Surgical Services in the provision, development and maintenance of an effective, efficient and equitable Surgical Service within the Cairns and Hinterland Hospital and Health Service. This position will provide elective general surgery services for one outpatient session and one elective theatre session per week within the Cairns and Hinterland Hospital and Health Service. This position will also provide acute surgical care during core hours and as part of the on-call roster for General Surgery.

Temporary part time, 8hrs p.f. up to 12 months Purpose of the role Assist in the provision of an effective, efficient and equitable General Surgery service within the Cairns and Hinterland Hospital and Health Service, providing expert medical leadership that encourages innovation, patient and multidisciplinary team participation in treatment and care with the aim of achieving demonstrable improvement in service outcomes.
