The OpportunityBoeing Defence Australia (BDA) provides people, expertise, process and tools to manage aircraft design, repair and continuing airworthiness capabilities supporting program execution and growth opportunities.
Forward looking, the Engineering function has developed a Capability Plan to enable the Engineering workforce to meet our defence customers' evolving needs, both in Australia and internationally.
BDA is looking for a Virtualisation / Windows System Administrator who will join the Engineering Strategy & Ops team, who are focused in creating Engineering excellence through diversity, culture, and strategic initiatives that will enable the workforce.
This position will build and administer a virtual desktop solution in a Windows and Linux Hybrid cloud environment and to ensure the designed systems meet all project and security requirements.
The role is based in Brisbane.
Key ResponsibilitiesCollaborating with project teams to gather and communicate technical requirements.Building virtual desktop environments using Citrix, following best practices within an AWS cloud environment.Administering Citrix and Windows server environments.Troubleshooting and providing solutions to design challenges.About YouTo succeed in this role, you will demonstrate your knowledge and experience in the key technical and behavioural competencies outlined below.
Desirable ExperiencePrevious experience in a similar role.Strong written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to clearly explain complex concepts to a diverse audience.Hands-on experience with Citrix VDI environments.Hands-on experience with AWS infrastructure and services.Previous experience in designing and implementing network solutions (desirable).Expertise in the following areas is highly desirable:Network connectivity and design.Windows client-server systems.Linux client-server systems.AWS Cloud and/or on-premises environments.Defence Security clearance to NEGATIVE VETTING 1 or above is desirable.Applicants must be Australian Citizens to meet Defence security requirements.
