Our Fleet Engineering department is a cornerstone of our operations, ensuring our aircraft meet the highest standards of safety, reliability, and efficiency. We are seeking a dedicated and experienced Technical Compliance Leader to join our team and help us maintain and enhance our technical compliance across our fleet.
As the Leader – Quality Conformance, you will play a critical role in managing our fleet by ensuring compliance with all applicable regulations and standards. You will oversee the CAMO Quality System and lead a team to uphold the highest standards of technical excellence.
You'll be great for this role if you have: Hold or have held an aircraft engineer license in category B1, B2, or C, or an equivalent license; or hold a qualification in aircraft maintenance at least at Certificate IV level; or have an aviation maintenance management qualification at least at diploma level; or possess an engineering qualification at least at diploma level in aeronautical, avionics, mechanical, electrical, or electronics disciplines. Minimum 10 years of relevant work experience, including at least 5 years in an Airline Technical Services Management role with aircraft similar to those operated by Virgin Australia. Lead Auditor qualification and experience auditing engineering and maintenance functions. Previous experience in Maintenance Control activities is essential. Advanced computer and data analysis skills, including report writing. Comprehensive understanding of regulations and standards applicable to the full range of functions within the CASR Part 42 Camo regulatory framework. Desirable but not required: Completion of type-specific training courses for aircraft types operated by Virgin Australia. Proven experience in maintenance control activities, with a focus on operational excellence and problem-solving. Strong knowledge of MSG-3 analysis and methodology, including practical application in maintenance programs. Demonstrated project management experience, showcasing the ability to lead cross-functional teams and deliver projects on time and within budget. Familiarity with Safety Management Systems (SMS), emphasizing a proactive approach to risk identification and mitigation.
