When you join us, you will be provided with not-for-profit salary packaging benefits and the support of an experienced leadership team.The RoleThe Village Manager is expected to professionally manage the Village in alignment with SCC Values, policies and procedures, and to ensure compliance with retirement village legislation. The position is responsible for establishing and maintaining effective working relationships with the Resident's Committee, Residents, their families, the community, service providers and all SCC internal services, in particular the Home Care team, promoting SCC Home Care services. This role is offered full-time and will cover the following villages - Garran, Braddon 4, Braddon 5, Yarralumla, and Campbell.Key ResponsibilitiesManage the daily administration of the Village to ensure smooth Village operations.Responsible for the financial performance of the village and developing reports and analyzing Village data to ensure the long-term viability of the Village.Assist in the sales, sales administration and marketing and promotion of the Village to ensure full occupancy and positive reputation of the Village within the community.Preparation and presentation of Annual budgets and Annual management meetings to the residents so residents are aware of key village information shared at these meetings.Promoting a positive and professional image of SCC by being the key person and representative of SCC for the residents of the Village on a daily basis.Facilitate and assist residents' coordinate social activities to support the positive engagement of residents and the community.Prepare, develop and distribute the Village Newsletter to keep residents informed on SCC information relevant to the Village and SCC.Be a referral point to assist residents' source domestic and care services, both internally and/or externally, to facilitate residents maintain their independence.Attend and chair meetings as required.Attend monthly meetings with Home Care staff to build awareness of the Home Care offering for residents within Village.Review all internal village systems to ensure service delivery is met.Coordinate and establish Service Agreements with local service providers.Responsible for ensuring Service Provider induction process is completed and documented.Responsible for the timely management of complaints and concerns to ensure complaints and concerns are responded to in accordance with SCC policy and procedures.Conduct entry and exit condition reports of units to ensure compliance with relevant legislation.Review monthly maintenance works within Village with maintenance staff to ensure works are completed in a timely manner.Coordinate and track emergency repairs and maintenance to ensure the timely response and resolution of site maintenance issues.RequirementsDemonstrated knowledge of current industry developments and standardsProven understanding & experience of budget processesAbility to develop strong working relationshipsStrong visual, verbal and written communication skillsAbility to work under pressure and meet deadlinesAn understanding of and empathy towards all peopleIntegrity, discretion and tact with respect to confidential informationAbility to work independently and with limited supervisionExperience in presenting budgets and annual management meetingsThree+ years' experience working within the retirement industry (desirable)Demonstrated knowledge of managing multi-faceted service organisation (desirable)Tertiary qualifications in Business / Aged Care and or hospitality (desirable)Knowledge of or ability to acquire knowledge of legislation applicable to the management and operation of a retirement village (desirable).About Southern Cross Care (NSW & ACT)We are a not-for-profit organisation with a mission to empower older people to 'live life to the full'.
