The Network is committed to supporting a vibrant cardiovascular research community in Victoria, and we're looking for a dynamic person to join our team. This role is pivotal in driving day-to-day operations and supporting the growth of the cardiovascular research network in Victoria.
In this role, you will work closely with the Chair of the Network (external) and the Victorian General Manager (internal) to implement strategic goals. You'll be at the heart of coordinating key events like the Annual Cardiovascular Showcase, managing secretariat functions for Executive Committee meetings, and building connections with researchers, funding bodies, health networks, and government agencies.
Responsibilities Provide secretariat support to the CVRN Executive Committee, including minute-taking, managing action items, and reporting.Lead the coordination of high-profile CVRN events and capacity-building workshops for researchers.Support social media and communications to promote cardiovascular research in Victoria.Build and maintain relationships with stakeholders across research, health, and government sectors.Identify collaboration and funding opportunities that benefit the network's stakeholders.Represent the Network at external meetings and forums to further our mission.If you're a highly organised, proactive professional with a passion for cardiovascular research, this role offers the opportunity to make a tangible difference. Some out-of-business-hours work is required, but flexibility is key.
Let's talk about you To be successful in this role you will have:
Demonstrated knowledge and understanding of the health and medical research environment in Victoria and Australia, including research funding schemes and collaborative networks.Experience in planning and delivering research, capacity building and/or networking events.The ability to manage projects, have strong organisational and administrative skills and work proactively and autonomously.Demonstrated you can maintain positive and effective working relationships with a diverse range of stakeholders, work with and manage diverse committees.Proven collaboration and high-level negotiation skills.Excellent written and verbal communication skills for audiences ranging from government, researchers, executives, donors, and general community.Ready to apply?
