Over the years, Victims of Crime NT have worked hard at fostering a safe, dynamic, and enthusiastic work environment where every member of our team feels valued and respected.
We acknowledge diversity, embrace differences, and encourage lifelong learning to cultivate a culture of safety, acceptance and belonging.
Our organisation is committed to ensuring the safety and well-being of both our clients and team members.
We are currently implementing a comprehensive change framework (Sanctuary Model) which is purposefully designed to build a trauma informed community of practice.
By adopting this framework, we are committed to providing an inclusive, secure and supportive environment for everyone associated with our organisation.
At Victims of Crime NT, we are dedicated to implementing a trauma-informed approach in all aspects of our work.
We recognise the universality of adversity and the impact of trauma on individuals affected by crime and strive to create an environment that promotes safety, empowerment, recovery, and growth.
As a member of our team, you will receive extensive training and support to develop a deep understanding of trauma-informed practice and the Sanctuary Model.
This includes recognising the signs of trauma, understanding how trauma can manifest in behaviour, and adopting practices that prioritise the physical and emotional safety of ourselves and our clients.
By embracing a trauma-informed approach, we aim to foster resilience and healing in those we serve whilst also supporting the well-being of our team.
Joining our team means becoming part of a compassionate and devoted group of people committed to making a meaningful difference in the lives of individuals impacted by trauma and crime.
By working with us, you will have the opportunity to make a tangible difference in your community by helping others and contributing to positive change.
Your responsibilities in this role will include, but are not limited to:
Provide end to end assistance to clients accessing Property Crime Programs.
Provide culturally safe case management, information, advocacy and support to victims of personal crime and support their engagement in the Criminal Justice System.
Liaise with Program Managers about client related matters as necessary.
Influence and mentor colleagues to support the implementation of Sanctuary into client practices.
Champion the Sanctuary Model amongst colleagues intentionally modelling the 8 commitments and the Sanctuary Toolkit.
Liaise with the Sanctuary coordinator to support the implementation of the Sanctuary Model with colleagues in the Alice Springs Office.
