The Victim Liaison Officer will support the region's restorative justice teams in delivering effective and efficient restorative justice processes, including activities relating to engagement and communication with victims who have had their matters referred to restorative justice conferencing.The Victim Liaison Officer will support all aspects of the restorative justice process, with a particular focus upon activities to ensure that victims of crime are well informed and well supported throughout the restorative justice process.
Functions of the Victim Liaison Officer may include convening restorative justice conferences and activities associated with pre and post conference activities to support improved efficiency of conferencing referrals.As Victim Liaison Officer, You Will Specifically Communicate and engage with victims of crime regarding the referral of their matters to restorative justice conferencing.
Support victims of crime in understanding and preparing for the restorative justice process, including referral to victim support services where required.
Act as a key point of contact for victims of crime and ensure they remain well informed regarding the progress of their restorative justice conferencing matters.
Assist the region in managing complex matters pertaining to victims of crime referred to restorative justice conferencing.
Support the region in building and maintaining productive working relationships with victim organisations and other key stakeholders.
Contribute to innovative and improved service delivery outcomes to address the needs of victims of crime.
Convene restorative justice conferences and undertake activities to support improved efficiency and effectiveness of conferencing processes.
Prepare data, case notes, briefs, plans, correspondence and other departmental reports in a timely and professional manner, consistent with departmental guidelines.
Travel away from centre: while the position will be based at an agreed flexible location, travel within the region for site visits and to other regional offices will be required in this role.
