About this role BlackRock's Multi-Asset Strategies & Solutions (MASS) group is seeking a highly skilled and motivated Vice President, Strategist to join our team in Sydney, Australia. Our team of over 350 multi-asset investment professionals manage a range of multi-asset investment strategies including diversified funds, income, tactical asset allocation, factors, sustainability, model portfolios, and customised mandates for a diversified client base. This group provides investment strategies and solutions that employ asset allocation, risk management, and extensive research to deliver specific outcomes tailored to suit client needs. Currently, MASS manages over USD $1.2 trillion in assets and has a strong presence in Sydney, New York, Princeton, San Francisco, London, and Asia Pacific.
As the Vice President, Strategist, you will play a crucial role in our Solutions and Hedge Funds business pillars. Reporting to the Head of Strategy, you will collaborate closely with the broader MASS team, including the Portfolio Management and Client CIO teams.
Key Responsibilities: Acting as a subject matter expert for our Hedge Fund products, providing product commentary, performance attribution, and ongoing due diligence of investment strategies held within the funds.Engaging with clients to understand their investment problems and objectives for new engagements.Crafting investment solutions that meet client needs, including the construction of strategic asset allocations, portfolio optimization, and strategy selection.Delivering presentations and updates on solutions, portfolios, and performance at client and consultant meetings.Using technology and BlackRock tools to enhance scale and efficiency in client engagements.Preparing product and client presentation materials, as well as RFP responses.Coordinating day-to-day product support and client engagement, including delivering investment and market updates and responding to client requests.Maintaining a deep knowledge of the full suite of solutions offered by MASS, as well as broader market themes and industry trends.Developing positive relationships with key business partners to support the solutions business within the firm.Key Requirements: A degree or higher-level qualification and a proven track record of academic achievement.5+ years of experience in asset management or a similar field, preferably across multiple asset classes.Familiarity with a wide array of investment strategies and multi-asset investment concepts, including hedge funds, factor investing, and risk management.Strong problem-solving and analytical skills, including proficiency in technology and coding.Excellent interpersonal skills, with the ability to connect with multiple audiences and adapt communication style accordingly.A strong sense of teamwork and integrity, enabling you to become a trusted partner to both clients and peers.
